Back on Track!

Aloha everyone!  I'm currently doing my 1st quarter project.  I feel that I'm a little behind in my 1st quarter project.  Even though we finished our interviews, and our b-role. I still have to do my transcribing, then I have to put my 1st quarter project together into a video thats about 1 to 2 minutes long with possible corrections to do, but then theres just trying to make time in my schedule so I can do my 1st quarter project.
The reason why I feel like i'm still a little behind in our 1st quarter project is because the transcribing takes a long time to do.  Even for a person who's really good at typing fast.  So I can imagine that it would take me even a week to transcribe my interviews because I could imagine my self taking about a week to transcribe.  This is because I'm a ridiculously SLOW TYPER!  So thats why thats one reason why I feel I'm a little behind on my first quarter project.
Another reason why I feel like I'm still a little behind on my 1st quarter project is that I still have to put together the video it's self.  But while I put together the video this could mean that there might be important shots missing of b-role.  Then that means we have to make more corrections.  This also means that it so that it might take us another day also slowing us down in our 1st quarter project.  Then while time is ticking down we can possibly just miss the deadI line for the 1st quarter project.  Thats why I again feel like we are just a little behind schedule on the filming and first quarter project and we could possibly turn in the video late.
Finally the last reason why I feel like I'm behind on the filming is because I have to find the extra time to complete the video and the b-role.  The reason I feel like this making me feel that I'm a little behind on filming is because my schedules are sometimes jam packed and I cant make any time to do those corrections.  Which will also cause me to be late on my 1st quarter project.  Thats why I feel that I am still a little behind on my film.
In conclusion there are 3 reasons why I feel like I'm still a little behind on my filming.   The reasons why i feel like I'm a little behind on my filming is because I have to do my transcribing and I type a really slow.  Then theres the fact that I have to make the video and find possible corrections than have to do more corrections and find time. Also theres that my personal schedule might me jam packed and I can't make any time to do the corrections. So again thats why I feel like I'm a little behind on my filming and my video.

Hey guys just found this cool movie trailer on you tube, its about kung fu panda 3. Where another panda looking for his lost son.  It was super funny because they both lost what they need but they don't both Po and the other panda don't see that relationship.  Anyway the trailer used great mediums and close ups and some wides.  They used the mediums to show that they look the same and you can tell that there both panda's.  Then they used the close ups to show how emotional they felt when Po and the other panda said what there looking for. Then finally they used a wide to show both of them but close enough where you could see the other villagers so you could tell that the villagers saw the relation but not Po and the other panda.  ( Po and the other panda have so much in common!).

What's Still Challenging

Well, I'm in my third week of school and I have overcome most of my problems and more specifically, I have gotten used to this website. However, despite all that I have learned, I am still a newbie.  As a newbie, it makes it harder for me to understand what to do without getting an explanation from my partner or from others who are more experienced media members than me.  Here are three things that are still posing a challenge for me.
First, I still need to learn how to do a radio audio clip.  My partner and I are scheduled to do our first recording this coming Thursday.  I am excited, but also a little worried.  The problem with doing the audio clip for the radio is that I don't really know how to set it up.  For example, I need to learn how to edit the audio recordings.  I also need to learn how to combine the short recordings into one final segment.  I am also a little worried about how I will sound on the radio.  After all, no one really likes the sound of their own voice on a recording.  For me, hearing my own voice sounds awkward.  But luckily I am being guided by my partner and I am slowly getting used to it.  Hopefully in the future, I will be able to do the audio recording independently or without too much help from others.
Another thing that I still need to get used to is the hands on experience of filming the morning announcements.  Even though I've had the opportunity to watch others and to get a general idea of how things are done, I haven't actually had any hands on experience yet.  The fact that I am a newbie will probably mean that I have a high chance of making a mistake on accident.  My goal this week is to gain enough experience to be able to do my part without making any mistakes.  I am hoping to get the job of video taping because that's what seems to be the easiest for me.  But with my luck, I will probably be assigned the role of "titler".  That's the person who titles all the texts and switches between backgrounds.  Hopefully, if I do my part correctly, I can learn another part of the video process the next time around.
Interviewing others with my partner, Carter, is this week's third and final challenge for me.  This is because I have never filmed an interview before.  I am relying on my partner to guide me on how to do a interview.  Newbie mistakes that I hope to avoid include asking a question that has already been answered or not being prepared.  For example, this might include experiencing equipment failures because I forgot to check it ahead of time.  With Carter's guidance, I hope to be able to do a interview without a lot of mistakes.
In conclusion, I have shared three things that are still giving me the most trouble as a newbie.  They pose a challenge to me because they are skills I have yet to learn and they require a lot of work to learn to do them correctly.  I know I can do it, but I worry that I will end up making a lot of mistakes along the way.  Luckily for me, my partner is great, and I am confident that with his help, I will accomplish everything I need to be successful this quarter.

Hi guys I just watched "Fantastic 4".  It was a decent video. But I still enjoyed it. The video had a good use of wide's, mediums, and close ups. The wide had a good use because when the used wide's the actually allowed you to make out where the location is. The show always started this way in a new location so you know where the action is taking place.  Then the movie followed up with mediums or close ups.
Then the mediums were good because the movie only used mediums when there was a action that one of the characters made like going to attack someone or starting to use a move.
Lastly the movie used a good use of close ups to show emotion like when they put the monkeys in the protective pod when they teleported them you could see what the monkeys facial expression was like or even to show what a certain power actualy looks like.
So in the end it was a still a decent show with good use of wide's to show location, awesome use of mediums to show action and body movement, and great use of close ups to show emotion.

First Week Of Media Class

Hey guys, this is my first blog of the school year, so let me introduce myself.  I am an 8th grader at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and one of my hobbies is fishing. Something I hope to learn in this class is how to properly use cameras.  But getting back to my first blog of the school year and how my first week in CKTV has been....  Last week we got our partners for the 1st quarter project.  My partner's name is Carter.  He is an excellent partner and is really being helpful in guiding me towards success.  Also, it is stressing to learn the morning announcements because no one wants to make a mistake.  Finally, I am still trying to get used to the Weebly site.  Here's more details about my first week as a CKTV member.
During this new period, my partner Carter has been great!  He has been guiding me how to use this site.  For example, he taught me how to create links on my webpage.  This is not the only thing Carter has taught me to do.  He is also currently guiding me how to use Google in different ways like how to list down items on Google drive.  Also, the way he guides me is great because he is very specific.  For example, because Carter is specific on teaching me how to use this site, he has helped me to avoid making unnecessary mistakes.  If he was not so specific, learning to use this site would have been more confusing and taken me longer.
Learning how to make the morning announcements has also been stressful.  This is because there is a large variety of jobs needed to make these announcements in the morning.  Each has specific responsibilities and learning all of this is hard to do in a short period of time.  For example, there is a director that tells everyone when to switch between cameras turn on fade, and turn off fade and to switch between mikes.  Then there's the person who titles the background. This person's job is to make the titles.  But the tricky part to this job is switching the slides showing what the speaker is talking about in words, like lunch and wiki.  Another position is the person who switches the mikes and controls how loud the person talking is.  This job is hard because you have to switch the mikes before the other speaker starts talking.  These jobs have their own unique challenges that make them kind of tricky to learn if you want to properly know how to use the equipment to make the morning announcement.
But even though I am using the Weebly site it is still difficult for me to get used to this site because there are so many things that need to be done.  For instance, there are links, uploading images and most difficult of all, the actaul WRITING to do!  Luckily, I was helped by my partner and friends in the media productions group.  This allowed me to know how to use this site and do my blog.  But even with my partner and friends helping me, I still struggled with some things, like uploading images to my Weebly site.
Anyway, thank you for reading my blog about how my first week of media went and the things I am stressing and struggling to do, like the morning announcements and posting on the Weebly site.  Hope you found my blog interesting enough to continue reading my posts.
